Lesly Colton discovered a cave in the valley below Langston Cove Cave awhile back. She and Brad made several hardcore digging trips over the summer to push this new cave upstream, following the air. With the assistance of Jim Smith they finally broke through and connected to the bottom of Langston Cove Cave on September 28, 2002. This weekend, October 5, 2002, a large group pictured below entered the upper entrance and came out the lower entrance for a first ever through trip. The connection is particularly grim with 800 feet of all out belly crawl in tight half filled tubes with cold muddy water. I have to say that this piece of exploration has my full respect. I wanted to congratulate Lesley Colton for her serious hardcore discovery and thank her for inviting me on this epic trip. Thanks, Andy Porter |
