Caving during 2002 Chattanooga Grotto Auction

Every year members of the Chattanooga Grotto have a grotto auction. This year it was held at Charlie Smith's house. On Saturday Anne Elmore, her son Clinton, and myself went pitting at Fountain pit (2), (5-8). While at the pit Clinton and I found a Copper Head snake (3)! Cave Spring Cave is the source of the water for the pipe. A new gate was installed (4). Once there was an iron bar gate that you could climb over and get into the cave. Next we took a quick tour of the Catacomb Cave (9-12). An interesting chert bowl was discovered (13). On Sunday a group consisting of Mudpuppy (15 middle), Reame Pritchett (14), Mellisa Draper (18), Cindy Geick (16), Harold Geick (15 far left), and Matt Curry (15 far right), and myself went looking for Hannah Hole (15). We could not find the way in so we toured Hermit Cave (16-20). BTW: The Cave (1) is found in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
