2006 EPA Region 4 Earth Day Photography Contest Submissions |
There were 4 categories in this Earth Day photo contest: People in the Environment, Outdoor Grandeur, The Living Earth, and Digital Darkroom. The public voted on first, second, and third place in each category. In addition, a panel of photographers selected one photo from each category to give a Photographers Choice award. We could enter a maximum of four photos in the contest distributed in any catagories we wanted.
Two of my photos won 1st and 2nd place in Outdoor Grandeur and I won 1st place in People in the Environment. In addition the 2nd place entry in the Outdoor Grandeur category won Photographers Choice. As an added honor the Government Services Administration decided to permanently display the winning Earth Day photos in the Sam Nunn Federal Building.
